The Common Application allows you to apply to 10 schools for free using one essay. Although some schools may ask for “supplemental essays” (which is just a fancy way of saying “additional essays”) so the school can get a better sense of who you are, other schools are perfectly content receiving just that one essay and all of your personal information.
By applying through the Common Application it means you can save yourself not only a lot of time from having to write on a variety of different essay prompts and fill out many applications, but also save yourself a lot of money. Some schools charge up to $75 per individual application.
Not all schools are on the Common Application.
