RULES FOR EVIDENCE: Debaters are permitted to use additional research for their arguments; however, research should only be in the form of an update. For clarification, debaters that wish to do their own research should do research to supplement or replace the evidence provided by the AUDL in the resource packet. Debate teams’ research should not introduce a new line of logic (i.e., a negative team can present an updated uniqueness card to replace the one provided by the AUDL, but they cannot present a new disadvantage). Debate teams do not have to get research approved before a tournament.
