The Atlanta Urban Debate League is committed to providing excellent debate education programs, services, and opportunities to diverse students, educators, and members of the community!
The Digital Debate Center is an open digital forum, staffed by Atlanta Urban Debate League (AUDL) professional staff members and student interns, to support ongoing coach and student debate education. Each Digital Debate Center session focuses on a different aspect of debate skill development, but also allows anyone who shows up to ask questions about/work on anything.
Ways students and coaches can take advantage of the Digital Debate Center include:
Coaches can talk through ideas for teaching certain skills or parts of the evidence packet, as well as clarify any questions they have
Tournament performance review and feedback
Brainstorming argument ideas
Learn to and get help doing research for debate arguments
Currently, the Digital Debate Center is only open to members of the Atlanta Urban Debate League.
The Digital Debate Center is be hosted on select Thursdays, from August to March, using the Zoom meeting platform. Coaches will be provided with a Zoom meeting link the Monday prior to the Thursday session, in the weekly coaches e-mail. Students should have parental consent and either request the meeting link from their coach or register via the AUDL calendar. Students are welcome to come on their own whenever they have questions. Please register as soon as you plan to attend to give AUDL staff time to prepare. If you wait until Thursday to register, there may not be enough instructors to give you dedicated support.
The last Digital Debate Center for this season will be on Thursday, March 21st with no set focus. Come with your speech and debate questions. Click here to register (with parental consent).
